Haley and Ronnie traveled from Fresno, California for their adventurous elopement here in Arkansas on the Buffalo National River. The day did not disappoint. They exchanged vows and rings in the field at Steel Creek before exploring more of the campground and river. Afterwards, we caught the sunset at a beautiful overlook in Ponca near their Buffalo Outdoor Center Cabin.
When eloping on the Buffalo River, I highly recommend staying at one the of Buffalo Outdoor center cabins. The cabins are scenic, romantic and convenient to many of the popular elopement spots in the area. The Buffalo Outdoor Center even has an intimate wedding venue, the Ponca Creek Lodge, which is great for parties of up to 100 people.
Steel Creek is one of my favorite elopement destinations near the Buffalo River in Arkansas. You can apply for a permit by visiting the National Park’s website.

My Favorite Places to Elope in Arkansas
How to Elope at Sam’s Throne on the Buffalo River
Ponca is such a dreamy place to elope or have your wedding! Situated about an hour east of Northwest Arkansas, this picturesque resort town is absolutely stunning and has a small town charm. I highly recommend hiking to Big Bluff or floating a portion of the Buffalo River.
How to Legally Elope in Arkansas
I highly recommend eloping on the Buffalo river in the Spring or Fall. Summer is also a beautiful time of year, albeit a little warm. The Buffalo is busiest during the late spring and summer months. Fall brings stunning colors and cooler temperatures.
