This iconic Sam’s Throne elopement day was the perfect example of how beautiful and stress-free eloping in Arkansas can be. K + P and I met up at Pruitt Landing along the Buffalo National River, a peaceful little spot surrounded by towering bluffs and the sound of the water flowing nearby. I brought my trusty changing tent (of course!) so they could get ready right there before sharing their first look. It was such a sweet, emotional moment—just the two of them, tucked away in the middle of nature, ready to start their next chapter.
After their first look, K + P took a slow walk along the river’s edge. The warm summer light reflecting off the water made everything feel so romantic and golden. One of my favorite things about Buffalo River elopements is how connected couples feel to the landscape—it’s quiet, raw, and absolutely timeless.
Once we soaked in the riverside views, we headed to one of my all-time favorite sunset spots in the Ozarks: Sam’s Throne. This overlook is a dream for adventurous couples who want sweeping views, a short hike, and a sense of complete solitude. We hiked down to their chosen spot overlooking the cliffs, where they exchanged heartfelt vows as the sun began to set over the Buffalo River valley. The air was still and golden, and you could feel how present they were with each other—just taking in every little moment.
After the ceremony, K + P shared a cake picnic right there on the rocks (how cute is that?). It was simple, sweet, and so true to who they are—no stress, no distractions, just love and laughter. As the sky turned soft pink and blue, we took a few final photos to capture that magic light before hiking back up under the first stars of the evening.
The next day, they celebrated with their family and friends, getting the best of both worlds—a private, meaningful Sam’s Throne elopement followed by a joyful reception surrounded by loved ones.
If you’ve been dreaming about eloping in Arkansas, the Buffalo River and Sam’s Throne offer some of the most stunning and peaceful backdrops you could ask for. Whether you want to hike to your ceremony spot, paddle down the river, or just find a quiet overlook to exchange vows, this area is full of hidden gems perfect for couples who crave adventure and authenticity.
