Nothing’s better for cocktail hour than a rich, decadent chacuterie board! Think of it as a fancy meat and cheese platter where you can get as creative as you want! These boards have been trending all over wedding blogs and influencer pages lately, and there’s a reason why! You can make a charcuterie board yourself and can get as creative as you want with it! These boards are perfect for an engagement party, a bridal shower, as a tray to enjoy while you’re getting ready with your bridal party or the perfect addition to a cocktail hour! Even better, you can make it yourself!
To make your charcuterie board, you will need the following:
-A large wooden board or tray
-Various cuts of smoked meats, such as pepperoni, prosciutto, salami, etc.
-Various cheeses such as gouda, cheddar, goat cheese, mozzarella pearls, etc.
-Small fruits such as figs, blueberries, raspberries, apples, pears and grapes
-A couple different kinds of breads and crackers, such as a baguette cut up, rosemary crackers, flatbread crackers, woven crackers, water crackers, etc.
-Olives, jams, jellies and other “toppings”
-A couple “wow” ingredients such as a whole honeycomb or a halved pomegranate to add character
-A few bowls for more liquid items
-10-15 toothpicks and 2-3 spoons
Assembly Instructions:
-Start by placing one or two bowls on the board, then the meats and cheeses, making sure to make different “piles” of each on different spots of the board. Then, add larger items such as the honeycomb, halved figs and apples and pears. Finally, fill in the “spaces” with smaller items such as nuts, berries, dates or crackers. If you run out of room on the board, no worries! Just place additional items in an accompanying bowl or tray.
