I love a good Arkansas adventure elopement! As of last year, the Buffalo River area (such as this spot featured below, Sam’s Throne) became my most popular elopement destination in Arkansas! It’s such a stunning place and I am so honored to get to travel out here so often for couples eloping in Arkansas. Last year, I documented more than 100 elopements in the Natural State.
I have a long history with the Buffalo River– it’s a very special place to me! I met my husband here and I spent so many summers hiking, camping and floating the river. Every mile of the Buffalo holds special memories and and brings me back to my teen years.
There are truly so many beautiful locations for a Buffalo River elopement– this gallery features two of my favorites. C + C traveled from out of state for a very intimate adventure elopement at sunset at Sam’s Throne recreation area.
They got ready together (ahh, so sweet) at their Airbnb before seeing each other for the first time in their wedding outfits. We then headed to my favorite waterfall at a summer camp where I used to work, Camp Orr. Twin Falls is such a stunning spot and we caught it after a rainstorm earlier in the week, so it really showed up for us!
Afterwards, we headed out to my favorite sunset spot in the whole area: Sam’s Throne. I’ve been coming out here for more than five years to take adventurous photos of couples and families alike. C + C exchanged heartfelt vows at sunset and we took some absolutely epic photos. Then it was time to head back to their Airbnb for a license signing and cake cutting! I signed their license (I’m a registered officiant after all!) and they cut into their super cute cake before we parted ways. Their wedding day was so light, fun, adventurous, and most importantly, exactly what they envisioned!
