Eloping in Arkansas is so magical and while winter is a quieter month for elopements, this beautiful season has a lot to offer. Read on to discover my favorite locations for a winter elopement in Arkansas.
While Winter isn’t the busiest month for elopements in Arkansas, I really love the quiet beauty and solitude that winter provides. Many of these parks and recreation areas are empty at this time of year, so it truly creates an environment for an intimate elopement or wedding day. Plus, many Airbnbs and other vacation rentals are less busy and more affordable during this part of the year.
Some folks worry about the weather, and this is an understandable concern. Thankfully, winter is my least busy season, so there’s more flexibility in January than in October (where I might photograph 20+ elopements in one month). I recommend staying for a few days so that we can make changes to the plan if needed. A lot of times, we may move things up a few hours so that we’re photographing during the warmest part of the day. You can always bring cute coats as well to stay warm as we explore the different areas!
White Rock Mountain is as remote as it is beautiful, however if you are looking for true adventure, it really fits the bill! I love sunsets out here, and even a cloudy day still has magic. There are also several waterfalls in the area that are accessible and typically running throughout the winter season.

The Buffalo River Area is so beautiful in the winter. Firstly, many waterfalls make an appearance during this season, such as this waterfall below at Lost Valley State Park. The mountaintops are also beautiful. The whole area is so calm and peaceful and it’s a great retreat.
