Proposal season is upon us! Whether you’re planning a surprise proposal or just in the market for gorgeous places to propose or get proposed to, read on to discover some of my favorite proposal locations in Arkansas!

5. Mount Nebo State Park

I’m obsessed with this gorgeous yet often overlooked spot near Dardanelle, Arkansas. With literal 360 degree views, you can drive around the mountain to catch beautiful light literally all day. My favorite spots include sunrise and sunset point, and best of all— it’s not too crowded.

4. Petit Jean State Park

Ahhh, Petit Jean- home to gorgeous riverside views, waterfalls, stunning fall colors and caves galore. Close to Conway, this spot has dreamy backdrops for any proposal— my favorite spot is Stout’s Point which faces East and the CCC Overlook which faces West. Don’t underestimate the beauty of the overlook at Mather Lodge either!

3. Mount Magazine

Mount Magazine, which is located close to Ozark and is the highest point in Arkansas, has even more epic mountaintop views, gorgeous lakes with pine and spruce groves and lots of beautiful sunset light. Particular favorites include the Amp Overlook and Cove Lake— think gorgeous sprawling landscapes and Pacific Northwest vibes.

2. White Rock Recreation Area

Looking for something off the beaten path and a bit rugged? White Rock is about an hour and a half south of Fayetteville and features absolutely stunning sunsets year round. This spot is pretty secluded although it can get busy on the weekends. There are several jaw-dropping overlooks and beautiful pine forests and lakes nearby as well.

1. Whittaker Point

If you want to capture the essence of Arkansas, look no further than Whittaker Point in Ponca (also known as Hawksbill Crag). While the hike down is substantially longer than any of the other locations, the view is worth it and the epicness of sunrise at the crag cannot be misstated. Plus there are gorgeous hikes all around this spot, with the Buffalo River just down the road and camping hot spots and summertime paddling opportunities at your fingertips.
