Each month I like to highlight a particular wedding vendor in the community who is really killing it!! Sabrina with Sabbie Chic events visited me in Northwest Arkansas earlier this month for some photos and she provided some insight into wedding planning and finding a wedding planner that really works for you! Read our interview below to learn more about Sabrina and what she offers as a wedding planner in Southeast Missouri, Northwest Arkansas and beyond!

Q: What do you do currently (like your job description)?

I’m the owner and lead planner at Sabbie Chic Events.  We are a Midwest based full service event planning business for that one special occasion. Specializing in wedding and event planning, our goal is to help curate your dream day, all while making sure your event runs seamlessly from start to finish.

Q: How did you get involved in working in the wedding industry?

I went to college for Special Event Management and worked for both an event rental company and a wedding venue throughout my time in school.  I realized just how much I loved the industry and after graduating, decided to launch Sabbie Chic Events!  She’s ever growing and improving and I absolutely love being involved in the wedding world.

Q: What’s the most important thing a couple should consider when choosing their wedding coordinator?

Trust and compatibility. Establishing a solid relationship with the person dedicated to making your wedding beautiful and flow smooth is valuable and important.  Trust comes with this good relationship and I think if you are compatible with your wedding professional, then you’ll have a successful and rewarding experience.  Make sure they align with your vibes, listen well, do beautiful work, and are reputable in the community by other professionals and past clients.

Q: What advice do you have for couples who are considering eloping or having a smaller, more intimate wedding? Do you feel like it is still beneficial for them to have a coordinator? Why or why not?

Determine your priorities and then make sure to enjoy the process!  I think it’s still important to have a coordinator for the details, timeline, and booking of vendors who are also excellent at smaller intimate weddings and elopements.  Especially for destination weddings and elopements, it’s great to have a planner or coordinator in the desired area for their knowledge and expertise.  Even with a smaller guest count, laid back couples who want to simply enjoy the “getting married” feeling may want to invest in someone to handle all the planning and logistics of the event to ease their stress levels!

Q: What tips do you have for couples who just aren’t sure where to begin when it comes to selecting their wedding coordinator?

If you’ve already booked some of the other vendors for your big day, ask for their recommendations!  In addition to that, wedding websites like The Knot, Wedding Wire, and just a simple Google search can help quite a bit with narrowing what and who you’re looking for.  Make sure and check out their testimonial/kind words page for reviews from past clients and other wedding professionals and then also check out their portfolio/gallery page as well to see if their style aligns with yours!  Before chatting with them, decide whether you’re looking for a day-of coordinator or a partial planning service or maybe a full wedding planning package.  That will help you narrow even further with your search to find a wedding professional who fits your needs!

Q: What is the most rewarding part of your work?

The people. We feel life and love is a celebration and that making memories with those closest to you is the most important thing. Your event is more to us than a social gathering, a wedding, a party- it’s a memory that will last forever and we will cherish every part of it. I’m so incredibly happy for each of my couples and wish to make them feel celebrated like never before.
